Represent AVTA on the Big Stage & Take Home a Share of $2,000!

Australia Day – 24th January 2026 | Dingley Tennis Club

We are excited to announce that AVTA will be competing in the prestigious 2026 Ray White Balwyn AMCTA United Cup, a special Laver Cup / Davis Cup–style Team Event held on Saturday 24th January 2026 from 8:30am to 5pm, at Dingley Tennis Club.

This elite tournament features 12 strong representative teams from major clubs and tennis communities across Victoria. It will be one of Melbourne’s biggest United-Cup-style doubles events in 2026 — and we are proud that AVTA will be one of the competing teams.

🎾 Prize Money

  • Champion Team: $2,000

  • Runner-Up: $1,000

  • 3rd Place: $500

Prize money is shared evenly among all AVTA selected players

🎽 AVTA Team Composition (15 Players – Direct Invitation Only)

AVTA will field a team of 15 invited players, each selected to represent AVTA in five specialist events:

1️⃣ Men Doubles 60+

  • Combined UTR ≥ 15

  • 3 players

  • Combined age ≥ 90

5️⃣ Open Junior Men Doubles 30

  • Each player < 18 years old

📝 Tournament Format

Group Stage – Round Robin

  • 12 teams → 4 groups of 3

  • Each team plays 2 Round Robin matchups

  • Group standings determined by sets won, then game difference

  • Winner each group will play Semi Final

Match Structure – “BEST OF 5 DOUBLES”

Example: AVTA vs Shanghai is the 1st Round Robin Match:

Team captain will 1st assign players for each of these categories and submit to the committee. (Player cannot play more than 1 category in each match up)

  1. Men Doubles 60+

  2. Men Doubles 90+

  3. Mixed Doubles 65+

  4. Women Doubles 60+

  5. Junior Doubles

The order of play is then randomly drawn (e.g Junior > Mixed > Women > Doubles 60 > Doubles 90)

First team to win 3 matches wins the matchup.

Remaining matches will not be played once a team reaches 3 wins.

Scoring Format

  • Round Robin: Golden point (same as AVTA format)

  • Semi & Final: Standard ATP scoring (no golden point)
